I'm not sure we should be resting players. We're at home in a major European comp and these guys are no mugs. W5 D1 L0 in the league so far. Let's get a win under our belt and look at the rest of the fixtures afterwards. Play the kids/2nd string in the League Cup (or whatever it's currently known as).

Alwaysaniron - agreed, up to a point. Some sort of compromise for me. There's plenty of ability and experience in the back four that most are suggesting. Give starts to squad players who are close to the first team, but not the kids on this occasion. Big guns on the bench if needed, and a couple of the youngsters for if we're comfortable. Benny should start as he tends to do well in these European games.

I agree with this team apart from i'd pick an U21 instead of Coventry.

Rather see Earthy or Orford given a go.

Whats the point of persisting with Coventry when he clearly isn't good enough for us

I will be amazed if Moyes picks any of the kids for this one, and rightly so. But spare a thought for Ben Johnson, who doesn't even get in our second-string back four.

Because, unlike the last few years the club are being greedy on pricing straight away, so it's not a no brainer, its a decision. (IMO)

Also with this package they offered STHs early they tied their own hands now as cannot offer discounting or KfaQ without pissing off the regulars.

Can't believe the bookies have us at 1/10 some of the teams we played last tear were very weak but can't emember odds like this being offered

The young Irish boy Patrick Kelly is more of a defensive midfielder than earthy or orford he allows those two to play if a youngster gets put in on Thursday it should be him . Obviously excluding mubama who should start .

Charleyfarley, I think the bookies have got this slightly wrong as well. This could even be an upset. They are scoring goals galore at the moment and are top of their league.

The central midfield spot that Downes filled in Europe will have to be covered by Soucek or Coventry I guess? Not deep in quality for the Rice and now Alvarez role?

A frit pair of Mubama, Ings or Kudus would be interesting and tbh I would prefer it was the latter 2.

Cresswell and Kehrer will cover full back roles and Oggy and Stavros the CB positions you would think?
